Abstract

This report presents an analysis of the compressed air system at the Dresser-Rand manufacturing facility in Olean, NY. The last compressed air energy audit for the facility was conducted in 2003.This report discusses the current state of the system based on data collected at the facility in January, and it presents recommendations for facility improvement based on analysis of these data. Although facility managers suspected that there were many leaks at the facility, this report found that the system was operating efficiently and there are no major improvements required. However, as it has been more than ten years since the last formal energy audit, the main recommendation to Dresser-Rand is that they implement a monitoring system in order to better understand the current operating conditions and recognize problems when they occur.
