Biochemistry unites the fields of biology and chemistry to investigate biological molecules and understand how their interactions drive the function of living systems. Because Smith College's Biochemistry academic program is interdepartmental, faculty work related to this interdisciplinary field is dispersed between the Chemistry and Biological Sciences faculty work collections respective to the faculty member's disciplinary field.
