Abstract

This website is an introduction to why bar graphs can be misleading and what alternatives can be used instead.

Comments

This website was created for a conference workshop at the Ecological Society of America annual conference in August 2022. Dan Turner helped with the technological setup of the website. The intent of the website is to teach more effective graphing techniques using the R programming language.

The workshop was developed as a part of the ESA/CSEE 2022 Joint Annual Meeting in Montreal, Canada. It was the product of a collaboration between Marney Pratt, June Arriens, Audrey McCombs, and Dan Turner. The workshop was designed to help beginner R users and educators learn alternatives to bar graphs. It was built with the Ines Montani's website framework.
