Abstract
The impact of the human species on the world today is remarkable and unprecedented. Since World War II we have altered our environment to an alarming extent. The consequences of our actions, whether global warming, loss of biodiversity, or changes to the air, water and soil, are complex and impossible to predict with complete accuracy.
