Abstract

Architecture students examined library building precedents, the evolving technologies of libraries and information access, the changing role of library spaces in the 21st century, and the social and cultural meanings of academic study spaces. Students consulted with the Program Committee's User/Study Spaces Working Group, visited several recently renovated libraries and library spaces, and ultimately proposed design ideas for the renovation project. Taught by James Middlebrook.
