Description
Kristina Peterson is the Director of the Lowlander Center, based in Gray Louisiana. By utilizing the rich and varied knowledge within bayou communities, including Traditional Ecological and Historic Knowledge, the Lowlander Institute addresses social and environmental pressures, and provides training and education to students, professionals, volunteers, and field workers. Kristina has been an advocate for peace and a champion of justice related issues, be they human or environmental. She has a passion for finding new and creative ways of problem solving by hearing stories of place and people. Understandings from our past, our ancestors (human and non) can help us live into the future with gentleness of spirit and the rejuvenation of our lived world.
